ATELIER EXQUIS transforms reclaimed European oak into refined architectural surfaces for exceptional interiors.
As independent manufacturer, every stage of transformation takes place within our own atelier, located in Eastern Europe, in Bihor county, Romania, near the Hungarian border.
Each material begins its journey long before entering our atelier. The wood we work with is carefully sourced from historical structures and selective demolitions across Europe — aged oak shaped by decades, sometimes centuries, of architectural life.
Once delivered to our workshop, every beam and reclaimed element is individually inspected and selected by hand. Old metal hardware, forged nails, and traces of previous construction are carefully removed through a meticulous restoration process that preserves the integrity of the wood while revealing its authentic character.
Within our atelier, each piece is shaped, assembled, and finished by craftsmen whose expertise transforms reclaimed wood into unique architectural elements designed to endure for generations.
The material is then transformed through a sequence of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary precision, a meticulous sequence of selection, restoration, cutting, and finishing.
Where the original antique surface possesses exceptional beauty, texture, and patina, it is carefully preserved for projects seeking the depth and authenticity only naturally aged wood can offer. Where restoration is required, the surface is refined with respect for the material’s history, allowing the oak to regain balance while maintaining its architectural soul.
The reclaimed timber is then cut into selected boards and architectural components, becoming the foundation for our collections:
- solid oak flooring,
- Versailles panels and different parquet patterns and panels,
- reclaimed oak and pine/fir surfaces,
- bespoke architectural panels,
- small furniture pieces and tabletop,
- antique oak wear layers crafted for exceptional doors and interior applications.
Every piece carries the memory of its previous life while being reimagined for contemporary interiors.

All our panels are crafted primarily from reclaimed old wood sourced from historical demolitions and architectural salvage across Europe.
By working with timber that has already lived a previous life, we give valuable material a new architectural purpose without contributing to additional forest harvesting.
Every beam, plank, and reclaimed element is carefully recycled, restored and reworked within our atelier, transforming aged wood into refined contemporary surfaces while preserving its natural character and history.
